Abraham Booth on the Two Kingdoms

Abraham Booth, Kingdom of Christ, 11

The civil magistrate is a legitimate entity, separate from and not in competition with the kingdom of Christ.

Render to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s.

  1. Just curious, ’cause I’ve been waffling between One Kingdom/Two Kingdom for a while. How is a Christian citizen to act under the Two Kingdom viewpoint in relation to his civil government?

    1. Remain in submission to it as an authority ordained by God, unless, of course, commanded to sin. Render to Caesar what is Caesar’s. Honor the King. Pray not only for his conversion but also that he would establish peace, justice, and safety for the people over whom he has been placed. Love your neighbor as yourself. Be prepared to give an answer for the hope that lies within you. Be gospel salt and light to dying mankind. Put your hope and exhort others to put their hope in Christ and his kingdom and nothing else.
